Title: Submillimeter Astronomy at Mauna Kea†
Abstract: Mauna Kea on the Hawai'i Island is one of the best sites
to pursue submillimeter astronomy from the ground.
At Mauna Kea, there are thirteen cutting-edge observatories,
and three of them are dedicated for short mm/submillimeter astronomy,
i.e., Caltech Submillimeter Observatory (CSO) of California
Institute of Technology, James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT)
of Joint Astronomy Centre (JAC), and Submillimeter Array (SMA)
of Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) - ASIAA Taiwan.
I'd like to briefly talk about some of my science projects and
other project using novel instruments at the facilities on Mauna Kea.
東京大学・天文学教育研究センターでは2003年4月から, 院生コロキウムに引き続き, 談話会を開いています.
