講師の方には、大学院生の参加者のことも考慮し、レビュー的な側面も含めた上で、ご自身の研究紹介をお願いしています。
なお、当談話会は天文学研究者・学生を対象に大学・大学院での
専門的な研究と教育を目的として開催されています。

Abstract: The availability of cold molecular gas in galaxies is the main driver of the rise and decline of cosmic star formation through the history of the universe. This, in turn, governs the assembly of baryonic mass along the nodes of the cosmic web. Large samples of galaxies both on and off the star formation "main sequence" have been investigated using common tracers like CO and [CII] in targeted studies and in volume-limited surveys to establish the general picture. However, studies in the local universe reveal that our ability to extract the governing physical principles (e.g., buildup of dense cores, the growth of chemical complexity, and gas infall and feedback processes) is limited when only using these most common tracers. This presentation will describe recent progress in surveys and detailed targeted studies in this field focusing on galaxies in the early universe, using major facilities such as ALMA, JWST, NOEMA, and the VLA. I will also outline some of the advances expected in the coming decade with new facilities such as the CCAT/FYST telescope and the Wetterstein Millimeter Telescope (WMT).
