Abstract: Antarctica provides a unique environment for astronomical observation, with cold, dry and stable air above the high Antarctic plateau. These summits offers the best seeing conditions, the darkest skies and the most transparent atmosphere of ground-based observing sites. Dome A is the highest point (4093 m) of Antarctica, the long polar winter night gives an unparalleled opportunity to conduct continuous observation for about four months. As the PLATeau Observatory (PLATO) was delivered to Dome A in January 2008, Chinese Small Telescope Array (CSTAR), four 14.5 cm Schmidt telescopes, was successfully installed on Dome A. Then Antarctic Survey Telescopes (AST3), three Schmidt telescopes with 50 cm aperture, started to be deployed on Dome A since 2012, which are the largest optical telescopes working in Antarctica. A number of new variables and exoplanet candidates were found through the remote-controlled observations. What is more exhilarating is that the optical counterpart of GW170817 was successfully captured by the second telescope of AST3. For the next generation of Chinese Antarctic telescopes, a 2.5 m optical/near-infrared telescope, so-called the Kunlun Dark Universe Telescope (KDUST), and the Dome A Terahertz Explorer-5 (DATE5), a 5 m sub-millimeter telescope can be expected in the early 2020s.
